The Twelve Dogs of Christmas

The The Twelve Dogs of Christmas is a lot like all those small budget live action that Disney made during the 50s and 60s--implausible plot, cardboard cutout villains (the town dog catcher, who else?), sappy sentiment, spunky kids whose crusade melts the hearts of some hard hearted villains, lots of relationships and spirits healed, and lots of cute dogs. In short, my ten year old son and my thirteen year old daughter loved it.

MPAA Rated G. Nothing objectionable, unless you count some oblique and ambiguous references to an old love affair in which a promise to marry a spinster was apparently never kept, and a lot of feel good Christmas stuff that never gets around to mentioning the reason for the season. Available on Netflix.
